Why didn’t my doctor tell me about the Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System (CrMS)?
Our medical education for physicians is highly influenced by the pharmaceuticals industry. The CrMS has nothing to sell. FertilityCare™ Practitioners and Medical Consultants will take the time to find the cause of a woman’s reproductive abnormalities. Since women are not machines with on/off switches, finding the cause and adjusting the hormonal abnormality takes some time. This is not cost effective for the medical profession or the pharmaceutical industry. The alternative is a "quick fix" such as the birth control pill, which don’t really fix anything, only masks symptoms.
Will my insurance company pay for instruction in the Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System (CrMS)?
Creighton Model FertilityCare™ practitioners do not file insurance but we will provide you with a receipt that you can use to file with your insurance company.

I'm trying to get pregnant. Will I be able to know when I ovulate?
Yes! While it is impossible to actually tell the exact moment you ovulate without an ultrasound series, with accurate observations and accurate charting you will be able to identify your peak day which, 95% if the time, is within two days of ovulation.
What if I just need materials?
You must be a client of FertilityCare™ Services of Venice in order to receive materials.
Can I use the Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System (CrMS) while breastfeeding?
Absolutely! Many women who are breastfeeding don’t want to take medications that may be harmful to their babies and affect their milk supply. Plus, women may find that the signs of their fertility are confusing and they are no longer able to make sense of other natural systems of family planning they may have been using.
The CrMS is easy to learn for women who are pregnant and hoping to use the method after delivery. It can be used by women who are breastfeeding, but have not yet resumed their periods, and by women who are back in cycles. Even if your cycle is irregular, you can use the CrMS effectively.
A practitioner will see breastfeeding women every six weeks so that they can confidently navigate the changes that occur with nursing an infant and the eventual weaning process. Nursing mothers may use the CrMS to achieve another pregnancy, avoid a pregnancy, or simply space her pregnancies out.
Is this a Catholic Method?
The major impetus for research and development of the Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System (CrMS) came about as a result of Pope Paul VI’s call to the medical profession to help families have an effective and safe means of planning their families naturally in accordance with God’s will for them. However, the word catholic itself means universal, and this system is universal. It can be utilized by every woman in the world no matter her religious affiliation for self-knowledge, for achieving or avoiding pregnancy, or for any other medical applications.
What is SPICE?
In all relationships there will be times when a couple will choose or need to avoid genital activity. Examples of such times may include when a woman has her menses, illness, pelvic rest during pregnancy, after childbirth, when traveling, etc. Couples using natural methods of family planning like the Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System (CrMS) may also choose to avoid genital activity on days of fertility if they wish to avoid a pregnancy.
The CrMS is a holistic system that recognizes that the sexuality of a woman is more than just what is going on in her ovaries; it involves all of her relationships, none more so than the relationship with her spouse. That is why it is so important that during times when genital activity is not possible for whatever reason, the couple has recourse to other forms of intimacy that ultimately strengthen their bond and deepen their relationship.
SPICE stands for Spiritual, Physical, Intellectual, Communicative (or Creative), and Emotional ways of showing love and affection without genital contact. During the days that you choose to avoid genital contact, don’t avoid each other! Instead, plan SPICE activities in order to enhance your relationship.

We just got engaged! When should we start learning the Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System (CrMS) to be prepared for being married?
Learning the CrMS three to six months prior to the wedding date will give a couple confidence in their observations and correct use of the system.
My baby is due in a few months. Should I wait until after I have the baby to learn the Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System (CrMS)?
You should schedule an Introductory Session before your due date so you have time to learn the CrMS prior to the birth of your child.
